Hello Sir,

To Install Windows XP,

Boot the Windows XP installation disc, Format the partition where linux is installed ( In NTFS file system )

Then Follow the instructions

I would be wary of removing a pre-installed OS and would suggest that you try installing Xp as a dual-boot at first - at least until you are sure you might not want to return the laptop for any reason ;)

The pre-installed system is all set up and ready to use but for Xp you'll need time to collect together all the apps and time to install and update these things. Also you might find it useful to give Ubuntu a fair go especially as the main hurdle people normally have is in trying to install the thing to start with

Anyway, whichever way you go with this
Good luck and regards from
