Wireless speed

Hello,
I have a 2.4 GHZ wireless router. The speed for my wif's laptop varies tremedously. It is generally low to good but is not more than 10 yards from the lap top. What can cause this problem?

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,

make sure that there is limited abstacles between the computer and the router.

always allow direct view of the router from the computer.

or try to update the wireless driver.

When you say 'update the wireless driver' are you recommending replacing the wireless driver or updating through software?
