Hi :)

This forum should be able to help choose a good distro
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

It might be worth popping along to
http://distrowatch.com
to have a look at the list of linux versions they have there.

For us to help we would really need you to tell us your cpu speed, ram size and how much hard-drive space you have free. If you have over 15Gb free on your hard-drive then most should fit quite easily! If your cpu is below 800MHz then that might be what's causing problems but there are plenty of linux versions that can run in a whole lot less than that so please let us know :))

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
