Hi :)

You might have more luck with this in another specifically linux forum such as
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

It might be worth popping along to
http://distrowatch.com
to have a look around at other versions of linux. RedHat is really made for corporate organisations and corporate deployment strategies. One reason large businesses prefer it is the high level of traditional technical support but of course that inevitably costs a lot of money to buy. As all the different flavours of linux work in very much the same way, especially if you get to the command-line then i would suggest starting at home with either Ubuntu, CentOs, Scientific Linux or Fedora instead assuming you have a powerful enough machine. If not then there are plenty of other alternatives in linux

Ubuntu is famous for having easy access to a huge amount of technical support forums, books in bookstores or in the library and lots of magazine articles all helping people get started with linux
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

These 3 are all in the same family as RedHat so they even more like RedHat than most
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=centos
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=scientific
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=fedora
although i would not say they are particularly easy for a first foray into linux-land

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
