Lan connection

Hello,
my problem is that i think i erase my lan connections from my laptop and i cannot conect to the internet. when i go to see the type of connection my lapto have it only show my wi-fi that also i buy a router but when i try to put my password in the wi-fi it don' let me type any letters only numbers so i can connect at all.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

Hi,

go to control panel > network connections > create new connection

follow the wizard and then create a new connection that is required to connect to the internet.
