Ok to transfer a file from xp to xp, is a multi step process.
1- go to "my network places" in your start menu

3- Copy the file strate across either by right clicking the file and clicking copy (also highlighting it and pressing control c does the same thing) then right clicking on the "shared documents" file and clicking paste (quick keys control v) or just simply drag it from one window to the other...

If your two computers are connected to the same local network (direct connection) or through the Internet, you can use PC File Transfer http://www.pc-file-transfer.com/ to connect without any knowledge of IP addresses or network settings (account connection) . This program allows transferring files from a remote computer to the local one or the other way around.

I appreciate your communication and refund, Dr. Kernel. The reason I used the same emaila address is that it wouldn't have made a difference as I wanted to move a 5GB file from my laptop to my new desktop. In future I will try you website again.

Wow, they deleted my conversations. That's the last time I ever use forums to share stuff with people.
I mean how can you tell people about services if you can't mention the service?

Wow.
