Hello, I have norton 360 and it says I have a virus, I run the program and it deletes the virus, however whenever i restart my laptop, the file comes back! and norton has to keep deleting it over and over again. How can i delete it completely? I have used the Terminal to delete the folder but when i try it says i am not authorized or something like that but it is the main account and only account i have on my mac so its the administrative account. how can i delete a folder with a virus if either Norton nor Terminal will get rid of it?

If a virus can't be deleted and you know what the infected file(s) is/are, you can simply go to Safe Mode and get rid of it. Unless it's a rootkit, its processes won't get started in Safe Mode, therefore they won't lock the infected file and you should be allowed to remove it.

You can also just install another reliable anti-malware program and try to delete it and see if the issue still persist.

Otherwise you may need to reevaluate your anti-malware program installed.
