How to play on two PC's with lan connected

Hello,
I have two computers.a wire connects my both computers.each end of wire is connected to the lan of each computer.now, i want to play counter strike condition zero with my brother.
note:i don't have an internet connection.
please help and tell complete procedure

Configuration: Windows XP
Safari 530.8

What is crossover cable?
my two pc's are connected by cable named as "RJ 45" and at its both ends connector are attached which are then plugged into the both pc's.
