Hello,

I was given a cpu and hooked up a monitor and keyboard. Windows comes up and then goes to a black screen which reads "check pc display settings" it will open in safe mode. The monitor is an hp mx 50, the keyboard an hp and the cpu an e machine with windows xp, What can i do

Hye you will have to change the resolution of your display settings on safe mode to be able to use the new monitor. Just put it to the normal resolution settings: 1024 x 768 then restart your pc!
