I want to connect Roku2 XS Media Player's HDMI directly into a VGA PC monitor ONLY (NOT a TV or notebook)
Would the audio transmit from the Roku Player succesfully through the vga monitor's audio jack?
Are there any converter adapters that in particularly enable/ensure audio?

Hello, I found this:

HDMI cables transmit both video and audio signals, but VGA cables are only able to transmit video. The back of the VGA adapter features a 3.5mm audio jack that allows you to attach an audio cable to your speakers or display so you can enjoy both audio and video from your HDMI-enabled device.

You can buy a HDMI to VGA adaptor for less than $10 if you want to try.

Yeah see that's what i'm wondering about. Whether the audio will transmit through the jack. I'm going to have to buy it and try it. I had bought a few small laptop speakers in the past that used 3.5 jacks whose volume was too low and unadjustable.
That's why i am so leery.
Ok thanks David
