Hello,

i want to install windows xp on my laptop, i have the genuine product key. i went into 'i386' folder, and ran 'winnt32', input my product key, it then then comes up with 'error 1722 - there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of this setup did not finish as expected'.
what does this mean? and how do i fix it to make it work?

cheers - M

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,
install the Windows the correct way.
that is, by using the installation CD.
put the CD, reboot your computer, press any key when you are prompted to do so.
then the installation will begin.
