Want Procedure of LAN set up in home

Hello sir, In my home I want to make a LAN connection within 2 machines by using broadband connection. please guide me step by step procedure for creating the LAN connection. I have a BSNL ADSL DNA A-211 Modem with 4 (four) Ethernet ports. And the operating system in the machines are windows XP. So please tell me the step by step procedure for making the LAN connection.

If you are using broadband connection:

You must use a switch or if you modem has 4 out it's cool!

Then configure the dial up broadband on the 2 machines.

Connect them using RJ45 Lan cables
