What is Affiliation?

Affiliation is a sales technique in which a website is the distributor of a commercial website's products. It is a business partnership between an online sales website (the parent website) and a group of distribution websites (the affiliates). The affiliation program thus allows the parent website to use the traffic and visibility of partner websites as new sales channels.

In an affiliation program, the affiliate is paid in one of the following ways:

percentage of sales: the parent website pays a commission, which represents a percentage (on the order of 10%) of the sales;
pay per click:
pay per contact made:
