VobSub format (extension .sub) is a subtitle format for easy subtitle addition to an existing AVI file.
The filter of VobSub uses VSFilter.dll library in order to decode .sub. files. Thanks to this filter, any application based on DirectX (DirectShow) allows to read SUB files, especially Windows Media Player, VirtualDub, AviUtl and Avisynth. VobSub is a freeware.
