For reasons of anonymity and confidentiality, you fear inquisitiveness.
You lend your PC to a friend, want to sell retail it, or more simply to erase the traces of your activities indeed.

Know that to throw your documents to the hamper or to format the hard disk to erase your data will not be enough. The function of deletion of Windows and the most part of the tools of cleaning indeed do not erase stocked information. An expert or whatever user advanced can recover them.

To erase indeed files and ancient information, Eraser is the ideal utility.
