The toner cartridge is just that, a cartridge holding the toner (ink). The drum does the work. Each drum is good for 20,000 Pages. There are two Toner cartridges available for your model printer, either 3,300 or 6,500 Pages per toner. You will need to replace the drum for every 3-6 toner cartridges you use depending on which type of cartridge you have been using.
