Problem intializing video card

Hello,each time I try to play my Myst series game, a popup says having a problem initializing video card. Try lowering your graphics . I have a radeon X 1650 Pro. 256 mb I lowered the game graphics but that didn`t work.I don`t know how to lower the video card`s graphics. Can you help? Thanks
