Hi i know this post is old but if you are looking \t this post then that means you have been googling for any info on this problem, well i did the same thing accidently to my memory card and eventually i found a program (freeware) that digs into your memory card for trace sectors and then restores the deleted files but hey dont take my word for it try it its free, if you have a card reader or you can plug in your card to the pc then diskdigger is for you, i can email the file if you cant find it, just drop me an email

Hope this helps

First - dont save or do anything that might possibly save more data to the camera. That just risks overwriting your deleted pictures.

Then, follow the advice and information on how to recover deleted photos at this photo recovery advice site

Good luck - shouldn't be a problem if you've not used your camera since you deleted the pictures

Whether its a phone, camera or PC, memory stick or other USB device, you can often recover deleted pictures successfully from them. It all depends on what has happened since you deleted the pictures.

When you delete pictures (or any files) the data itself isn’t deleted, just the index entry that tells the system where the data for those files is located. The area containing the deleted data is also now marked as free space so it is available for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted pictures so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.

If the deleted pictures are on your PC, use another PC to browse the internet for a solution as internet browsing causes lots of temporary files to get written to the disk. Download any photo recovery software, for example, to a memory stick, plug that in the computer with the deleted pictures and run it from there.

If the deleted pictures are on a phone, camera memory card or USB memory stick, just don’t save any new files to it.

One of the easiest ways to see if you can recover deleted pictures is to try some photo recovery software. You'll need to be able to connect the device directly to the PC, or put the device's memory card into a card reader connected to the PC.

A good tip is to try the free demo version of a commercial product that will scan the device for deleted pictures and show you exactly what pictures can be recovered. At least that will show you if you can recover the deleted pictures or if it’s too late already. You can find more useful information on how to recover deleted pictures at http://www.squidoo.com/recover-deleted-pictures

It's hard lesson, but always always backup files and photos to a different device for safety! It's so easy to press the wrong key, or suffer a corrupt memory card etc etc...

Anyway, all is not lost in situations like this. Depending on a number of circumstances, such as how the pictures were erased, what the phone or camera actually does when it formats or deletes files, how much free memory there is on the device and what you've done in the way of saving new data to the same device in the meantime, you may still be able to recover your deleted photos.

In many situations, the deleted file data isnt actually erased, just the filing information that lets the system find the file. The disk/memory space where the files were stored is also made free for new files to be stored there. The more free space you have on the device then the longer your old data might (note - might) remain there before a new file overwrites it.

So - don't save anything new there if you want to recover it!

To see if you can recover your deleted pictures easily, you can download the free trial of some decent photo file recovery software to a PC. Connect the phone or camera to the PC using the USB cable that probably came supplied with the phone, or insert its memory card into a card reader and connect that to the PC.

When you run the software, the phone should appear as a drive. Scan it - probably using the deepest level of scan which may take some time and it will show you what files it finds and if they can be recovered in tact or not.
