Hello,
One day I was perusing the internet when in the lower right hand corner of my screen popped a message. This message was suspicious to me because it said something like "you may have security breaches. click here to take care of this. this problem may have been caused by a history of visiting porno sites." I felt that it was odd for microsoft to use the word "porno." I ignored the message and it kept popping up. Finally I clicked on it, and it immediately ran a long scan. It was a bigger window with colorful icons. It is titled, "Privacy Center." It told me to pay $59.99 for a fix, and that I should do this because information and history of my computer could "cause problems with your work, family, or even blackmail." (I feel like this is the blackmail right here!)

I cannot see my desktop anymore, just this window. I can get to the internet, by clicking on a link on the window:
www.micorsoft.com/security. This takes me to a strange page, the address of which is
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/twc/privacy/default.mspx

Clicking through here I can read that ...huh. I just went there again and the site seems bigger and more realistic...before I went to a page that told my "my wife" would be upset to see my history, and that "micorsoft is very famous for your business."

I'm very confused as to what the hell this thing is and how to get it off my screen and out of my computer. I want to be able to have my desktop again, as I write a lot and want my files on Microsoft Word.

Please help! Thanks.

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 2.0.0.18

It seems an adware or even spyware attack. Spywares/adware are piece of malware, often used to steal your pc informatioon and to do spam.
Anyways, you should run Malware Bytes (free)
http://darfuns.com/download-malwarebytes/
If this dos,nt remove then run Spyware Doctor (Free)
