You mean you can't get the P2P software to connect ? FYI: The way you pharsed the problem would make anyone not familiar with Ares Galaxy think it is a website you are having connection issues with rather than a filesharing program. if the program is blocked by a firewall, you could have the type of program you described.

My mom had to reformat her computer. We both use ares ultra 1.4.0.0 ...when she was loading all her programs on she "tried" to go to the Ares Galaxy website and was not able to connect. I tried with my computer and could not connect either. My p2p Ares program is working fine. but now i'm concerned if my computer crashes i won't be able to go to their website and re-download ares. Any idea why this is happening?

i can't connect to the program...it gets on the browswer but searching and downloading files is impossible.... I have windows vista and i haven't yet installed antivirus software by the way... |

I cannot search any file by using Ares P2P. Ares cannot connect. Only show connecting. But why. |

Hi, had same problem when I reloaded windows os,just says connecting and thats all,but as luck would have it. I had my shared folder on a second drive,not on the default ares folder I do this to have more space for my downloads.What happens is as soon as I changed folder from ares default to my second drive,which of course I named ares shared folder,restarted ares and as soon as it started loading my downloads ares connected online,tried this with my mates pc,taking my drive to his pc,dragging and dropping into his newly created ares shared folder,again not ares default,and ares connected onlline,only tried this the two times,hope it works for you.

My ares works fine ...i actually have it on a disc also. My problem is not connecting to Ares it's i can't connect to their website should i need to re download ares. My mom also can't connect to the Ares website to even download Ares.
I hope that made sense. Every time we try to go to their website we get a message that says can't connect or something like that.

my ares was working fine...but i have installed windows again and using sp2 and a fire wall..... now i am not able to connect to ares.. the internet page is opening but when i am searching something no result is comeing...

can someone help me i just moved ares from my administrator account (where it was working just fine) to a limited account that im forced to use on my hp desktop running on windows xp service pack 3 but all it says is connecting at the top i tried leaving it like that for about a half hour and still it just says connection how can i make it so it connects right away if it helps you in any way im using avg anti-virus 8.0 |

Guys, geobats thing works. Alright, here's what you do:
1. Go to My Computer. in the search bar, type this in:C:\Users\Scruffy\AppData\Local\Ares\My Shared Folder 2. On the left side search bar, look for the "My Shared Folder" and drag it out to your desktop. Then just drag that folder anywhere you want to in your computer, a place you can easily access it and remember where you put it. 3. Close Ares and restart it again. It should take like 30 seconds but then the usual online time meter should appear, meaning you're connected.

I have windows OS Vista Ultimate I only downloaded Ares for the first time on my laptop today and it keeps saying connecting, I kept it on for like an hour or more and it's just not connected, I tried changing or relocating the folder technique and Ares is still not connected it keeps saying connecting and I am begining to loose it because it is very very very fustrating .... ppppllllleeeeaaaassseee!!!!!.... help me, really i don't know how much more of it I can take because I also had to deal with it on my desktop pc it worked for a while and then it started saying connecting and not connected I also tried changing or relocating the folder and it did not work my OS on the desktop is XP Professional, both laptop and desktop are constantly online so upgrading is not a problem and I have high speed internet, so could someone please help me and tell me what I maybe doing wrong or what I can do to fix it.

Recent connection problems solved
Ares users have been reporting the return of the problems getting Ares connecting to the network. The problem is in the servers used for the initial connection to the Ares network, making it difficult for users to connect the first time they start Ares. Once Ares starts and connects to its network, it has a list of ‘reliable’ IP addresses and keeps them for the next time you fire Ares up, so it’s really just the initial connection that is a problem. Ares Vista has solved the problem with an advanced technique for pushing an updated list of host servers out to users to connect to, so is not dependent on the initial list of cnodes like the older versions such as Ares Galaxy are. It might be a hassle changing over but the 15 minutes it takes to download and install the new version of Ares vista will save you much frustration. http://aresvista.com/

hi mine ares is also not connecting, and when i download ares 2.009 my pc is starting real slow
does ares takes a lot of memory or space? i have it on a notebook acer aspire 5920g i still didnt check if my free avg anti- virus blocked something of ares? and i have a windows vista firewall and i choose the option too alloud ares program. i have also hitmanpro 3.o beta a spyware killer installed if i change the ares download share map location does then works?? can somebody please help me with these questions???
