I just purchased a 500gb seagate hard drive and a nexstar cx 3.5" enclosure. Once I plugged it in, my computer installed the HD immediately, but I cannot view it in my computer. I can see that the HD is connected when I look at my device manager though. I have read on other forums that some people have luck getting this enclosure to be recognized on Vista after they have connected it to a computer with Windows XP. Unfortunately I don't have access to an XP computer.

Is there anything I can do to make this work on Vista?

Thanks

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.10

I had the same problem. It was recognized in Disk Management, I just had to change the assigned drive letter (It was conflicting with a networked drive).

Right click my computer, click Manage. You are now in Computer Management, under Storage select Disk Management Right click in each part of the volumes to get volume online and to format the new drive.
