Itunes download problem

Hello,
When I try to download Itunes 8.1 my computer won't allow the Itunes set-up programme to run - it says ItunesSetup.exe not a valid win32 application - this file is loaded on my computer but won't run. I'm using Win XP Pro..thanks

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0
