My computer just beeps

Hi I have a compaq presario for awhile now and i went to go start it up and nothing turns on but the fans and you can hear it running but it starts beeping. there will be a long beep then a long pause and it continusly keeps doing it and wont stop and i dont know what i can do to fix it. i dont have any cds to reprogram the computer because i have done it before when this happened to me before. so can anyone tell me what i could possibly do to try and fix this please. i really do need peoples opinion on how to fix this...thanks

Hi, it is more than likely bad RAM. Take one of the sticks out then try to boot up. If no good, swap the one you took out with the other then try again.
