i have a problem installing window xp in my usb hard drive. is it possible to install window via usb port in usb hard drive.

I want to install Wn XP in USB powered external HDD and boot from it. My laptop is Compaq Pressario. Can any body help?

There is a website that has pretty simple directions for this. http://www.ngine.de/article/id/8 worked for me and I used a Snadisk Cruiser 4GB flash card.

hi guy it's so simple
-just attach ur pen drive to ur system
-re partation it through "partation magic"
-now insert window xp os in cd-rom drive
-re boot ur system leaving ur pen drive in ur pc
-press del or f2 to enter BIOS configuration
-select first boot device as cd-rom drive
-follow regular operating system installation procedure
-whenu reach selecting partation for installation select the path to the usb drive
-now press enter and continue installation

ok try it and enjoy xp from usb drive

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS PEN DRIVE TO BOOT IN ANY PC MAKE FOLLOWING SETTING
-GOTO my computer>property>advance>startup and recovery>setting>default operating system>select ur usbdrive os >or manuall edit by pressing edit
