ITunes doesn't open

Hello,
I just purchased a nano (4th generation) iPod, the manual tells me that iTunes will open automatically when I plug the iPod in, that didn't occur. Not sure how to proceed. I use Windows XP

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.8

Open iTunes by yourself.
Then synchronize your iPod with iTunes, I think iTunes would recognize the iPod next time.
