Hi,
check if the headphones are working properly.
make sure that the other person whom you are talking to has the microphone activated.

When I call on my laptop (HP Pavillion tx 2000) using headphone, the recipients (other people) can not hear my voice but I do hear them. Please any assistant. I use the same headphone to listen to music on my laptop.

Wale: some suggestions....if you cannot hear them or they cant hear you in msn, try skype, then if skype works, i would suggest:

messenger has some options that might be tweaked, eg compatiblilty mode -f your friend is say vista and you are xp, they might need to be running in compatibility mode.

Another thing is to check firewall settings. I was using a new ZoneAlarm - which by default was blocking things, so lower level of security.... when i reduced my level to medium, i could hear my overseas friend, but not very well, before i could hear nothing when secutiry level was at maximum

my overseas friend cannt hear me, but i can hear them intermittently, i have XP, so i will suggest for my friend to change the setting in her messenger to run in compatibility mode... my messengher is already in that mode.
