This worked for me...Move the little "Lock" slider somewhere in the middle of the locked and unlocked position. it might take a few tries but I placed it right in the middle. Hope this helps.

Hi! I've got a problem on my memory card. Please! I need help for this. If I wanted to copy on my memory card it does not working because of the write protection. How can I solve this problem? I have also tried to slide the "Lock" button on it but still it does not working. Please help me as soon as possible.

Try blowing out the reader. I have a Dell that always said it was write protected. I tried it in something else and had no issues. Blow it out with compressed air or the old fashioned way. Works for me most of the time.

THANK YOU ALL !!!! I never thought of using a different card reader. For me, that did the trick (I had the same problem--it said it was write-protected and it wasn't).

I had this same problem. My card reader was pushing the lock slider to the lock position each time I inserted it. I would put it in unlock, put it in reader, then it would slide about half way when i put it in. So I put a piece of tape around the card and it kept the slider in position so it wasn't write protected. FYI, the unlocked position of the slider is down, toward the gold metal bars on the back where the card is inserted into the reader.
