Raid @ 3GB/s

annajones1188, on Sunday June 8, 2008 12:35:44 PM
Hello,

I have seen raid specs at 3GB/s, but when I look at hard drive specs and raid reviews in magazines they only rate at around 150MB/sec, so how is it possible to get this amount of speed? What kind of raid controller card and hard drives would be needed? and what level of raid? thanks!
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

The 3Gb (300MB) speed is the maximum 'theoretical' speed that the SATA 'interface' can run at. There are no hard drives that run anywhere close to that speed. The drives can't even reach 150MBs throughput speed at this stage of their development.
