Linux driver for CREATIVE 5.1 SOUND BLASTER V

Hello,
I am using UBUNTU 8.04, my on board sound is not working in any OS. It says " NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED" So I decided to use CREATIVE 5.1 SOUND BLASTER VALUE as Sound card. I am unable to find LINUX DRIVER in support of it:

Please help me getting its support of linux and its driver to get it working on my UBUNTU system.

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 8.0

Maybe there's no driver for it, because i made a search also, i could not find anything

Would you suggest me to purchase this sound card, Do you have any idea about that, it will work on my linux (UBUNTU) or not? Or which sound card should I buy..
