NET NOT WORKING

Hello,
my net is not working on my laptop but working fine on my pc....when i try to plug in the ethernet cable it asks to install drivers......when i try to install it from cd provided by them it doesnot work......i have windows vista......i tried without installing drivers bcoz it is provided in vista but it doesnot work fine.......the broadband connection itself cannot be established....what shall i do

The ethernet driver is missing. You should download the LAn driver
