Norton Anti-Virus and Roadrunner

Whenever I have my Norton Antivirus enabled to automatically check for virus', it slows down my Road Runner browsing to slower than a regular dial-up modem. When I disable the auto-protect, my browser zips along just fine.
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Have you set your security level to a high guard level ?

Try decresing the security level cause your anti-virus might be blocking access to lots of stuffs!

Yeah Norton is quite heavy in many ways... IF wen u disable it, it works correctly, might be the RAM which is failing to focus in the priority use! I used to love Norton, but actually i found a much better security software: Eset Nod 32 with Smart Security !! Hoope u found ur way.. loL since the date u posted it :-) Cheerz mate

i HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICES FROM TIME WARNER CABLE AND IJUST HEAR THAT I CAN GET MY FREE ANTIVIRUS IN OUR HOME WE HAVE TWO COMPUTERS

try avira dear norton is just too slow and then scan your system it will be fine
