Modem not detected

Hello,

turned pc off during update, tried log in safe mode system rstore etc, in the end i reinstalled windows, but now can t connect to internet because it can t find or receive my modem (inside my pc), did the modem need reinstalling? if so i have no disc for that. what should i do? have direct cable ether from router to pc, nothing and can t set up wireless either : ( Please Help!
