Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0
Hello
Windows XP inclides a program shutdown.exe that does this. |
Hi, I read you answer to someone else's question that is is possible to set window xp to shut down on it's own and you said yes. That windows have something called shutdown.exe. can you please share more info on where to find it and how to use it. |
it is located in c:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe, you just go to your task scheduler and select browse for the program, then follow the address. Select then schudule it to run. If you are really looking for a script, here is a 10 minute script
shutdown -f -s -t 600 -c "Windows is currently shutting down, please save all work at this time." This will give you a 10 minute window to finish. If you want less time, just change the 600 value. |
there is an easy way to do it
shutdown.exe -s -f -t 120 -m "machine name" -c "comment" |
