Dvd rom reads only CD,but does't read dvd's

Hello,
Im using LG DVD writer supermulti/lightscribe,when I put in a CD it reads and plays it ,but Iput in a DVD it doesn't read/play.I've tried to re-install it to result. So what can I do to solve this problem?

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0
