My PC freeze

Hello,
I have formated a Hardisk and loaded a new OS (Windows XP Professional)
After the software were loaded ,i was trying to an Office ,at some stage the mouse and the keyboard can not more working,and the only option that i have is to shut down and restart the pc.
Any cd's i was trying to lead will stop at some level.
I tought it was the operating system ,i used onother OS,but it is giving me the same problem.

i don't know what to do againg.
Can you help me solve this problem?

i will be glad to have you view point about this ..
