I bought dell vostro A840 laptop last week.Now i installed windows XP .But not installed audio.
Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver this error is coming.pls ur advice....

I have already face this problem.
the solution of this problem is that, first go to link which are given below.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe
copy this link and paste it to the web browser, then automatically downloading start.
and then install this downloaded driver into your pc/lappi and then install your audio driver .
also now if you have any problem then also paste the link into the web browser which are given below.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32686.exe
donload automattically start .
install thisdriver.
then install your audio driver.
it is sure that you will find that the problem is solve.........

Hi ,

I recently got Dell Vostro A840, As recommended by many, For audio problem - I downloaded and got success in installing sp 32646.exe with its driver; but failed in sp34386.exe and it is showing an error as “cannot find the media device”.

1. Is there any other way out.
2. Will realtek driver solve it ? I read it on some other website.

3. Also can u help me with the link for Bluetooth and diagonstic utility driver

I am very disappointed buddy…pls help me out !!

Install sp32646.exe. then install sp34386.exe.
now install the dell driver-conexant one.
this should fix the audio media recognition problem.

I also can't install sp34836, some 'cannot find media' message pops up.

If its a sound problem with Dell Vostro A840 there are two steps you got to do

1. First you got to install the UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) Driver
Link for that is
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

2. Now install the Audio Driver you have got from the net
