Windows installer virus???

Hello,

i load up my laptop, as soon as it gets to the desktop, a window pops up saying " windows installer......installing"

then it says error, then it proceeds to shut down my laptop.

any suggestion??

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Sounds like you got a sneaky virus. run a virus scan and if it does not detect it formatt your hard drive.if you want back up any important files first. hope this helps.cheers.

Naders,

to be franck, im not sure its a virus! Anyway i recomend you to firstly :

Install avira anti virus, this is damn good to track virus!

If not virus detected, it should be that you deleted a start up program of file, thats y your pc is shutting down

Im wondering if the booot ini is messed up or missing.??? or your boot sequence is missing a file also.

I have same problem. other than taht I have a pop up window saying "market researcher" installing..each time i start up the computer. I have to keep shut down this pop-up windows. I did find some virus, and clened up my computer with Kaspersky, however these problems haven't been solved.

Hi naders,
the best solution is that you buy a good anti virus now it is avira so buy it and simply scan your pc,,,,,,these viruses are too nasty when their extinction
