Software for keyboard shortcuts

Hello,
I formatted my laptop and installed the drivers i had but the keyboard shortcuts(like function keys) are not working what should i do? its a sony vaio laptop.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.10

Are you sure you have installed the necessary drivers for your keyboard..(better have them from the manufactures site).
