Why dont my dvdplayer play all my burned dvds

Hello,
why does my dvd player play some burned dvds but not all of them.
i have two different burn programs, i can use one of them and the disk will play,but if i use the other one it wont play,but with the program that does work i have to convert the videos, and it makes the video look blurry? can any one help ???
