Hello,
I have a HP 22w LCD monitor, running Vista Ultimate OS. Sundenly the monitor gives error message...no vga or dvi inputs and goes to sleep mode. I've tried to reboot multiple times with the same result. I replaced the graphics card but no sucess. I can't get to safe mode or any screen other than black. Any advice??

PS the hard drive light seems to indicate the hard drive is working...just no monitor

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,
check if the cable is properly connected and is not damaged.
or this may be a problem from the motherboard graphics slot.

Thank You,
I replaced the apg card with a pci card and have the same results. I changed cables and they work on another computer. I think the motherboard or hard drive is bad. What do you think?

Just a remark....had something look alike with another screen as well, and thought the same as you. Your sreens have 2 inputs right ? If you change anything, you should restart (at least in my situation) or shut of the PC totally and start it up after changing input channels. Just changing from one input to the other gives with the pc running gives you the false indication that you have no signal. Hope this helps a bit.....

Having the same issue with HP w2207 monitor on my HP tower pc. I have third replacement video card in it. I don't think it's the card either. I hooked up vga connector to laptop that only had vga connection, and the monitor worked fine. I tried dvi connection to laptop using a dvi-vga converter, but got nothing. I have tried 3 different dvi cables, so I don't think it's the cables. I can only get the monitor to come on with dvi connection after shutting down and waiting for 15 - 20 minutes ... like a cool down period. It usually starts back up without an issue, but later, after being idle for a few hours, will lose signal and go black again. I suspect that the monitor dvi electronics is failing or over heating. I am unable to test tower pc's video card
with another dvi monitor w/o buying one. If I can do that, then I can rule out the monitor or not, but I'm thinking the dvi side of the monitor is failing.

I finally decided it was the video card after all, and bought a new one to replace the inferior stock ComancheD7350LE. That model is the one HP kept replacing .. all failed for various reasons. I bought a NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400GS from BestBuy for 60bucks. All is well.
