Unable to install any software

Hello,
I am unable to install any primary software.
When every i click the setup it comes up with this display popup window.
/?- Display this commmand line help
/admin - lauch offce customization tool
/adminfile <admin file>-specify a customization patch or folder containing a customization patch
/modify <product id>- enter maintanance mode for a product
/repair <product id> -repair a product
/uninstall <product id> - unstall a product.


I have no clue what this is and how can i overcome this.Please help and i appreciate ur time.

Boot in safe mode and run your antivirus (thats up to date) for a full scan....

to boot in safe mode, tap the f8 key while windows is booting until the boot menu appears.... then select safe mode.

I opened xp in safe mode still i was not able to install softwares even antivirus. so how can i install antivirus to detect infections

I have run antivirus in safe mode and it didn't find any virus but still i am unable to install any software.
Please advice and my time some how has been modified and it's been displayed as 22.34 instead of 10.34 pm.

Please help.
