Vista has its own built in application that can shrink current partition down to specified size allowing the remainder to be set as a new partitions without any need for reinstalling the OS.

Hi highway.. you said dat to partition in vista it has its own feature of shrink but its does not shrinks volumes above 10 GB.Making a Partition of 10 gb out of 250 or 320 gb is useless. can suggest some other way.or wat cud b the error in the shrink method.

What you need to do is right click on Computer.
Then go to the drop down menu Manage.
Click on Storage on the right hand side.
Click on Disk Management.
Right click on the volume you would like to shrink and Click shrink.

Not really sure what Anu is talking about as I have shrank multiple PCs with more than 10g on both Vista and XP.

You can shrink the c partition and make unallocated space and then create another partition with the unallocated space.

There might be some partition parameter error on your hard drive. Then it is time to try Acronis Disk Director Suite, this program can resize partition even there is error on the partition. Follow this tutorial http://www.geeksdo.com/shrink-c-create-partition.html

As I know, there is no free partition software for resizing 64bit. Good luck.
