Having problems setting up d-link router??

Hello,
i really need help trying to set up my wireless internet.. i just bought a laptop yesterday and the d-link router... i tried to instal it so many times already... my friend finally came over and fixed it. but then the internet on my qwest modem stop working i finally fixed that this morning but now my router is not... how can i fix it?? please help me out!

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.10

Is the router a built in modem variety? if so you can't use two broadband modems on the same line.
