I need to chang my computer name back 2 origi

Hello, i changed mygcomputers name from its original set name and I believe it crippled my computer from receiveing internet signal. i don't remember the previous name and I need 2 know how 2 find it or restore 2 the previous name . i dont have a restore point to do a system restore to. my lap top shows a strong signal but cant receive anything explorer won't load . can someone help me?

Configuration: windows xp home edition ,I.E. 7

You should try to start your pc on safe mode by pressing F8. and then do a system restore
