Hello everyone.. I need your help today.. I know a little bit of changing windows and one of my friend brought me his computer so i could work with it and change the windows. the computer model is a Acer Extensa 5420-5687 and the computer wasn't working right because while the computer was on it will go off after like 15 minutes or if you were copying a huge file like 4GB it will go off. so i decided to reinstall windows vista home premium with a copy of recovery cds that i ordered for another Acer computer which i don't remember the model because i had it for a short time. the problem with the computer is that i turned on the computer then i restarted the computer and inserted the Fist Recovery CD. it booted from it and gave the option to chose a language and then it gave the warning saying that everything was going to be lost. and accepted it and it started the format of the HD.

after like 3 to 5 minutes the computer when off and since then i haven't been able to turn it on. every time i connect the charger the light that it has goes off and i also try with a universal charger and it wont work. something weird is that when i connect the charger to the computer it like cut the power from the outlet for a couple of second and if i change the universal connection so i can connected it to my computer it wont work.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Hi,
this may be a battery problem.
take out the battery, press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds.
put back the battery and then boot the laptop.
connect the charger and see the results.
