Hello,
I'm attempting to install a second SATA drive in my old Dell Dimension 8200.

Current config - Adaptec SATA host controller plugged into PCI slot. Hitachi Deskstar 250GB plugged into Adaptec card. No other HDD installed. (Boot from the Hitachi, running WinXP Pro).

What I want - to add WD10EADS 1TB SATA drive to that Adaptec card.

Dell Dimension 8200 bios vA09 (latest version according to Dell website)

Problem - bios doesn't seem to want to count up the size of the WD drive. I can see both drives during the initial boot and it counts up the size of the Hitachi, but then it hangs once it lists the WD. It sees it, but it seems like it can't see what size it is. Nothing happens after that.

Any ideas?

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.8
