ADSL2+ modem can use to connected two system

Hello,
sir/madam, i have bsnl boardband connection with the modem type ADSL2+MODEM. Can i use to connect two system to my modem. in my modem i have one ethernet and one usb port. so i want to take ethernet to my pc and usb port to my laptop and my ip address is like 117.195.229.175, subnet mask is like 255.255.255.0, my default gateway 117.195.229.1 and my dns server is like 117.195.229.200. so in my laptop what changes i should do for ip address,subnet mask, default gateway ,dns server.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.9

Most ADSL modems allow you to use the Ethernet port or the USB port But NOT both at the same time. I would check with bsnl to see if they have this restriction. Good Luck
