I have Acer Notebook Aspire 5003WLMi.

XP is corrupt, Not able to boot.

It does not boot from CD , pressing f2 it ask for password, which i dont have (i believe it is locked by Acer) , i have tried Backdoor password referring multiple site (cmos,bios, phoenix, no go) .

i can not change boot up option as cmos is password protected. pressing f1 f9,f10,f11 for f12. it wants bring the selection of boot device option.

referring multiple forums , i figured out there is something wrong with Acer notebooks.

Is there anyway to reset the password option apart from removing the battery. as a last resource i will open and will cut the battery.

i can not recover the password using password recovery tool , as it is not booting from cd. i have not tried with usb. but i dont think it will boot from usb , as it is not booting up from cdrom.
