Partition a dell 1525 inspiron laptop

Hello,
I bought a new Dell 1525 laptop in which windows vista home premium was pre installed. So there is a problem partitioning the hard drive as Dell have given 4 partitions and none of them could be shrinked. The only option in hand is to format the laptop and then partition. I don't want that time consuming job to be taken up. Please help me out in this tedious looking work and I would be very thankful if you do so. I don't want to format my laptop and then partition.

Dont use Partition pagic . as i only install it on my Laptop n after install it when i open my computer the d drive become corrupt n i had lost my imp data. plz dont do that.

this is better to backup ur d drive

then delete this drive from disk management

delete 10 gt restoring drive

n shrink the c volume to 30-40gb

n make another drive for remaining space.
