Connect MP160 printer to Hp 1502 computer

Hello, I can't seem to get my MP 160 printer/ scanner to connect to my Hp 1502 hard drive computer. The wizard shows up but it keeps searching for the MP 160 printer/ scanner with no result. I put the start up disc in but it keeps searching for MP 160. Please help someone. Thanks Queenz

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,
unplug the printer, put the installation CD, install the software and drivers.
then connect your printer, check the connection, make sure that the printer it switched on.
check if the cable is not faulty.
try to change the port.
